The PARAFull Mission is to guide, inspire, and motivate those with physical handicaps. The goal is to help those suffering from traumatic injuries understand that their life does not have to be limited. Your life does NOT have to stop when a tragedy hits. Just because we lack certain abilities, their is NO LIMIT to what we can accomplish. After my car accident in 2008, I was left to figure out how to live a life without the most natural ability that one is born with, which is, to walk. It took me an incredibly long time to accept my wheels, and I still struggle with that from time to time, but for the most part, I have come to terms with my "DIS-ability". Now, 8 years post accident, I believe I survived for a reason. In 2008, I wasn't ready to die. I had so much more to accomplish. That night, my life took a great turn for the worse, but I will confidently say now, that that was just the beginning. I felt like my world collapsed, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
This mission is dedicated to all those suffering with a spinal cord injury. My hope is that you find some comfort in my words, understanding that you are not alone and what you're going through is understandable. This mission is dedicated to the support system and the caretakers that an SCI patient has around them- Mom's & Dad's, Brothers & Sisters, Best friends & partners- you are the rock to keep us sane. It takes a strong person to stick by the side of someone as tortured as I was, but I hope you will find peace in my words and know that you are very, very appreciated. |
